Ceremonies

funerals, memorials, remembrance, transitioning, weddings, adoption, ceremonies with a Celebrant.

Whatever type of ceremony you wish to create, I am here to listen to your needs and help to create something unique to you by working closely along side you.  Because every ceremony is different, I offer a free 30 minute discovery call so that we can discuss your needs.  Whatever your vision of a ceremony, we can create it together.

The Cocoon forms a silky covering enclosing and protecting caterpillars during a stage in their lives before they develop into adults and make their way into the world.

Bespoke naming ceremonies can be tailored to your story and your hopes and dreams for the future:-

Child’s Naming Ceremony is an excellent option for those wishing to welcome a new addition to the family (a new baby or following an adoption) but without the religious elements of a traditional christening. The ceremony will be designed and presented in a way that fits with your own family values. I also offer ceremonies for those wishing to celebrate a name change (divorce, by deed-poll etc).

Adult Naming Ceremony In this unique personalised ceremony, you will be able to celebrate and pronounce your chosen name. I will  craft a unique ceremony honouring your journey, incorporating meaningful rituals, affirmations, and readings that will celebrate the next chapter of your life. It will be a transformative and affirming experience, marking this significant milestone with dignity and joy that symbolises your renewed sense of self and independence..

To make silk, the filaments from several cocoons are unwound and reeled together, resulting in fibres of extraordinary strength.

It takes extraordinary strength to navigate the world and it helps to acknowledge and celebrate that strength during life changing events through rituals and ceremonies.

Wedding Ceremonies and Vow Renewals; bespoke wedding and vow renewal ceremonies, tailored to your unique love story and personal preferences. Whether you envision a traditional, contemporary, or themed ceremony I will ensure that every detail reflects your journey together. With a focus on personalisation, I can  incorporate meaningful rituals, heartfelt vows, and special readings, creating unforgettable moments for you and your guests.

Adoption and Blended Family Ceremonies: I create unique and  personalised family ceremonies, welcoming your adopted child into the family, celebrating the joyous union of two families into one. Honouring the distinct backgrounds and traditions of each family member, this will be a harmonious and inclusive event. By incorporating special rituals, personalised vows, and meaningful readings, we ensure that every family member feels valued and connected.

Life Changes Ceremonies  deeply personalised ceremonies, honouring and celebrating your journey through major changes in your life (divorce, overcoming illness, transitioning to name but a few). I will work closely with you to  create a very special ceremony by incorporating meaningful rituals, affirmations, and readings. I will ensure that your ceremony is an inclusive, heartfelt event to mark this significant milestone in your life. One that honours your courage in stepping into your authentic self and supports your journey with love and respect. I will ensure that the people closest to you are included in a way that is right for all of you.

End of Life; The death of a caterpillar allows the emergence of the butterfly from the cocoon. This can symbolise resurrection, new life and a freedom for the soul. Or it can simply be considered as a reminder that life continues for those left behind in a very different way.

Living Funerals are a celebration of somebody’s life and are held while they are still alive. As a Celebrant I am honoured to work with the dying and their friends and families. There is no etiquette around a Living Funeral and I can help to plan, design and deliver a living funeral in whatever way you wish.

Funerals.  I meet with the family and spend as much time as is needed to learn about the person that has died. I help to create a ceremony that reflects the wishes and needs of those that are grieving while also honouring the life and experiences of the deceased. In listening to those stories and understanding the values and beliefs I am able to craft a unique life story and help to support the people who will be speaking as part of the ceremony.

Memorials are very special moments that help to acknowledge the loss of a loved one. Sometimes people do not have the opportunity to hold a funeral for many different reasons but a memorial ceremony can help to honour a loved one and help those left behind to say a special goodbye. They can also be helpful on the first anniversary of the loss; the scattering of ashes; or as a separate, private event following the funeral for people who cannot attend.  My memorial services can also be designed for those who wish to acknowledge their loss due to a miscarriage, or the loss of a pet.
